My first time at Caswell House and my goodness what a stunning venue to get married at. The immaculate grounds and the interior design of the barn with French antique chairs and fairy lights, absolutely out of this world.
Leading up to Rachel and Rhys big day, they specifically requested the photography be kept natural, no posed shots, no formal groups and no confetti tunnel. Personally this is where the pre wedding meeting comes into its own so you can express your hopes and fears about the day and ultimately how you would like it to be captured. I worked to this criterial and was very pleased with the end result with natural images that reflected the atmosphere of their wedding.
I arrived and starting photographed the bride and groom prep at different ends of the barn. The sweetest moment happened right before my eyes as Rachel’s mum brought their beautiful 2 year old boy to see his mum in her wedding dress. Rachel’s smile as she hugged her handsome young boy, said it all, and I was thrilled to witness and to photograph such a spontaneous cuddle between them.
The ceremony took place and all eyes were on Rachel as she walked down the aisle, a truly beautiful bride, and there wasn’t a dry eye in the house as they said their personal vows to each other. As they left the ceremony room and walked out to the bar their friends and family followed them where they mingled, chatted, hugged and relaxed with their favourite people. Now I am an absolute lover of the confetti shot and yet to not include it, for these two, it totally worked and the transition from the ceremony to the reception was utterly seamless and very natural.
The rest of the day happened right before my camera lens, where moments where captured for prosperity, from drinks reception, to the walk around the grounds, going through to the speeches and the evening, a very natural occasion indeed.
