As soon as I walked onto Deer Park Hall I was absolutely blown away, the rustic vibe of the venue is full of warmth and character, but its the grounds itself with the rolling hills and the herds of meandering deer that really give Deer Park Hall that absolute WOW factor!

I had known Katy and her twin sister since they were children and was thrilled to bits to bump into Katy and her fiancé at a local wedding fair and couldn’t help but get swept along with their infectious excitement of their wedding, especially at such a unique venue as this one.

Their day came about and all to soon I was in the little cottage photographing bridal prep and dashing up to the hall to photograph Ryan with his groomsmen. I was so happy for them, their love for each other was plain to see, but there was something else about this couple that I fell in love with, it was the energy and the playfulness that they brought to their wedding that made it so much fun to photograph.

Katy chose to walk down the aisle to Walt Disney’s “The Beauty and the Beast.” Now as you already know I have photographed a lot of wedding and you would think I would have my emotions under control at this point, but when I heard “tale as old as time, song as old as rhyme,” it absolutely got to me and I couldn’t help but shed a few tears myself. I can only image how Ryan felt as he watched his beautiful wife- to-be walk up to him.

The rest of the day was utterly sublime with the weather perfectly complimenting an outside wedding given the time of year. We took a wonder around the grounds for the couple portraits, but the best bit was yet to come, later on that day we hopped into an off road golf buggy to capture the herd of deer, Katy and Ryan stood on a fallen tree and stole a few beautiful moments to themselves before it was back to the Hall for the cake cut and first dance – with confetti canons!
