A riot of good times with new and old friends at a fabulous venue that offered tons of space overlooking a stunning lake. This place quite simply ticked all the boxes for this lovely couple that had a particular vision for their special day.
Alice and Ryan chose The Cotswold Water Park to get married as it was a great central location for all of their friends and family to easily get to from all over England while also offering fabulous accommodation for a wonderful hotel experience.
Alice got ready with her best friends and her mum and when the time came for Alice’s dad to see her, there wasn’t a dry eye in the house. He played his role beautifully being suitable emotional at the sight of seeing his little girl all grown up and looking absolutely stunning. They proudly walked into the ceremony where the bright overcast day reflected off the lake and bounced into the room creating the most flattering defused lighting conditions.
After their beautiful ceremony everyone spilled outside for the confetti walk and the drinks reception. For this point of the day Alice and Ryan had brought entertainment with them from home in the form of ball games and while their guests mucked about we took a short walk along the decking and around the corner to the quite part of the hotel for the couple portraits. Once again it was lovely to be able to work with such gentle diffused lighting and sage greens and capture such natural interaction between these two as they chatted and Ryan goofed about while Alice gently chastised him.
The speeches brought laughs and tears, as Alice and Ryan gave a joint speech together followed by the chief bridesmaids with the best man. I had not seen this before and I must admit I thought it worked a treat where two fab double acts could give each other moral support while delivering funny antics and stories of how they met and all those embarrassing stories.
This wedding was such a lively one, so of course Alice and Ryan wouldn’t just have a normal first dance but a Ceilidh band instead. They invited everyone onto the dance floor, the old and the young, the cool movers and the two left feet, everyone came together and flung each other around. Another good reason why this venue was so perfect for them was all that space for everyone to dance about, with the promise a comfy hotel room at the end of the nights shenanigans
