A super early spring wedding at a fabulous venue with floor to ceilings features of rustic wooden beams, lime washed walls and twinkling lights.

I started early with Briony at a nearby air B&B to photograph her getting ready with her gorgeous two dogs, her mum and her two best friends. (Sadly the dogs did not come to the wedding as Briony was worried it would be too much for them.) Soon after Matt the videographer from Grace Studios arrived and we happily blending in to captured the exciting of bridal preparations as everyone had their hair and makeup done.

We then popped over to the barn just as guests were beginning to arrive. Chris was there to warmly welcome everyone with big hugs and hand shakes and a quick catch up before the wedding. So far he was doing a fab job of keeping his emotions in check, until the beginning of the ceremony, when all of a sudden his emotions overflowed. Thankfully his older brother was by his side offering jokes, tissues and words of comfort to get him through.

At this point, as a photographer, I have to say how fab the barn photographed with its massive floor to ceiling windows letting in natural light that filled every nook and corner. In fact the whole feel of the barn just seem to ooze romantic warm vibes and compliment every moment from the old wooden beams festooned with fairy lights, to the lime washed brick coloured walls and cream floors, to the real fire that burned all day, a simply stunning barn to photograph at and to get married.

Later on that evening as I was setting up the lights for the first dance, Matt glanced outside and commented on how dramatic the sky looked, with that I grabbed my camera, ran over to Briony and Chris and asked if they were okay to nip outside for a few moments. Often with weather like this you have to work quickly before loosing the light and the magic. They were absolutely fantastic, Briony whipped up her dress, grabbed the bouquet and we were off. I yelled across to Matt to join us and my goodness, it was heaven, the sunset bounced of the contemporary flag stone patio floor, I gave a few prompts to Briony and Chris, but to be honest those fab relaxed end-of-the-day poses only truly happen by themselves and when everything is said and done and all that’s left is the first dance and the party 🙂
