Jessica and James chose Kingscote Barn for their venue and ideally Jessica wanted an outside ceremony. You would have thought with a summer wedding that wouldn’t have been a problem, and yet the summer of 2023 was one of the wettest summers I have ever photographed. Lucky the sun gods shone down on Jessica and James that day, as rain and storms were forecasted the day before and the day after, but not on their wedding day.

Everyone arrived at Kingscote Barn at pretty much the same time and bundled into their separate rooms to start getting ready. As the morning went by more and more guests arrived until the time came for everyone to be seated on the lawn terrace for the ceremony. Jessica glided down the aisle with her proud dad and underneath the biggest flower arch these two childhood sweethearts said their vows. It really was a beautiful ceremony, and I know I say this every time but an absolute honour to be part of it and to capture it for them.

Afterwards everyone mingled and ate, drank, hugged and chatted. Just before the wedding breakfast I took Jessica and James aside for the couple shots, once again Kingscote Barn did not disappoint with those beautiful rural views that stop you in your tracks and make you take a deep breath and slow everything down.

After the wedding breakfast and speeches I took Jessica and James aside for a short amount of time for those golden hour shots, this time in the surrounding cornfields that thankfully hadn’t been cut yet (the sun gods really were on our side)

It really had been a golden day for Jessica and James, as they cut the cake and danced the night away, they just looked so so happy, I couldn’t help but feel really happy for them too, what a fantastic day, thank you sun gods 😉
